Terms of Service

Welcome to Prefer a Robot ("preferarobot," "we," "us," or "our"), available at preferarobot.com. By accessing or using our website, signup flow, customer dashboard, managed hosting, or any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

preferarobot provides managed, cloud-based hosting for open-source AI agent software. OpenClaw is available today; additional agents (Nanobot, Hermes, NanoClaw, memU, Nemoclaw, and others) will be offered as they become available.

• Provisioning and operating a dedicated agent instance on cloud infrastructure
• A guided setup flow to connect your LLM provider API key and messaging channels
• Account management, billing, and basic operational support
• Dashboard tools to view status and manage your instance configuration

The Service is a bring-your-own-key ("BYOK") platform. You supply your own API keys and channel credentials. We host and operate the runtime; we do not resell LLM inference. Your agent conversations are processed by the third-party AI providers and messaging platforms you connect.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

• You must provide accurate registration and billing information and keep it current.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account, including actions taken by agents you configure.
• Notify us promptly at hello@preferarobot.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
• We may suspend or restrict accounts that violate these Terms or pose a security risk.

Paid plans are billed monthly through our payment processor as recurring subscriptions. Prices and plan features are shown on our website at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.

• Payment processing is handled by our payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
• You may cancel through the customer billing portal linked from your account or by emailing hello@preferarobot.com.
• See our Refund Policy at /refund-policy for the 7-day first-subscription money-back terms.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless otherwise required by law.
• Fees are generally non-refundable except where required by applicable consumer protection law.
• We may change plan pricing with reasonable advance notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance unless you cancel before the new price applies.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights
• Generate, store, or distribute illegal, harmful, abusive, deceptive, or infringing content
• Send spam, phishing messages, or unsolicited bulk communications
• Deploy malware, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with the Service or other users
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract proprietary components of our platform
• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access without our prior written consent
• Deploy autonomous agents that interact with third-party services without proper authorization from those services
• Mine cryptocurrency or run resource-abusive workloads unrelated to normal agent operation
• Circumvent plan limits, security controls, or usage restrictions

We may suspend or terminate access for violations, with or without notice depending on severity.

The Service may generate content using artificial intelligence through software and third-party model providers you configure. AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or misleading. They are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute professional, legal, medical, financial, or other advice.

You are solely responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on them and for configuring, supervising, and monitoring any automated agents you deploy. We are not liable for actions taken by your agents, including messages sent to third parties through connected channels such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, or Slack.

Your usage must remain within the limits of your selected plan (for example, number of instances or included features). We may throttle, pause, or suspend usage that exceeds plan limits or materially impacts platform stability.

preferarobot and its branding, website, dashboard, and proprietary platform components are owned by us or our licensors. You retain ownership of your content, prompts, configuration data, and data stored in your instance.

By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, back up, and display your content solely to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service.

Open-source agent software is subject to its own licenses (for example, MIT). Our managed hosting does not alter those licenses.

preferarobot is an independent service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to the OpenClaw project, Nanobot, Hermes, NanoClaw, memU, Nemoclaw, or any other upstream open-source agent project or its maintainers. Agent names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

The Service relies on third-party providers — for example payment processing, cloud hosting for your robot, website delivery, transactional email, the AI providers you connect with your own API keys, and the messaging apps you link. We do not list vendor names here; a current list is available on request. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party outages, policy changes, or data handling outside our platform.

We strive to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Downtime may occur due to maintenance, infrastructure issues, third-party failures, or events beyond our reasonable control. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated when practicable.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT AI OUTPUTS WILL BE ACCURATE, RELIABLE, OR SUITABLE FOR ANY PURPOSE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, preferarobot SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR AI-GENERATED OUTPUTS.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100).

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless preferarobot from claims, losses, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, your agents' actions, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

You may stop using the Service at any time and cancel your subscription as described above. We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these Terms, non-payment, or risk to the platform or other users.

Upon termination, your instance may be shut down and associated data deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period, subject to legal retention requirements and our Privacy Policy.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles, except where mandatory local consumer protection laws apply.
